Olomu did well at trials

The Nigerian midfielder – the only player in the PSL to have started all 30 league games last season in only his first year - left last week and missed Stars’ goalless draw against Golden Arrows.

Bafana Bafana defender Bevan Fransman, who plays for Netanya, tells KickOff.com that the 21-year-old spent the past week at the club.

“Olomu was here for the past week, but he has since gone back to South Africa. He really did well from what I saw of him at training. He only trained with us and didn’t play a friendly match because we didn’t have one as we were preparing for a league game this past weekend.

“I know we still have one foreign space open and it will be up to the technical department to make their decision,” says Fransman, who is one of four foreign players at the club already.

Rantsi Mokoena, Ea Lla Koto’s brand manager, also tells KickOff.com that they expect the midfield workhorse back on Thursday.

“Prince should be arriving today from his trials with Maccabi Netanya. According to the letter that I have from Netanya, they wanted to have a look at him for a week. I am sure Netanya, along with Prince’s agent, will then formally make communication with us in the next couple of days about how Prince did there. At this stage we haven’t been told of anything though we expect the player back,” says Mokoena.
