The talented midfielder was officially presented with his Hyundai Young Player award at the Paris Motor Show on Wednesday, having been voted the best U-21 player during Brazil’s Fifa World Cup as he helped Les Bleus reach the quarter-finals of this year’s world showpiece.
“I’m very proud to receive this award and it was an honour for me to play in the World Cup,” the 21-year-old told FIFA.com.
“I can’t predict what’s going to happen in the future, but I’m going to do all I can to win even more trophies.”
The former Red Devil who enjoyed a stellar campaign with Italian club Juventus last season is hoping he will one day be named the best player in the world.
“I’m going to keep on working hard,” he said. “My aim is to become the best player in the world.”
