The 48-year-old Bafana Bafana legend, who notably reached the CAF Confederation Cup finals with Orlando Pirates and SuperSport respectively, has been out of a job since parting ways with Matsatsantsa in March.
“No, coach Tinkler is still not coaching anywhere,” Tinkler tells KickOff.com.
"Ja, at the moment I'm still relaxing. I ended up not going no [Tunisia]. Well, the language barrier as well. It was Clube Africain. It was one of the issues, and obviously I was on the short list of coaches, and they opted to go for a coach who speaks French."
Asked if there were teams interested in his services locally, Tinkler said: "Ja, but I prefer not to mention names, but I turned it down. No at the time I wasn't ready. Literally two, three days after I resigned I was made the offer and I said no.
“Obviously I would like to get back into it, but right now I need to play the waiting game .. .be patient, wait for the right opportunity to come along.
“Well at the moment my kids are actually on holiday now, so I'm spending a lot of time with them and playing some golf, going to the gym, losing weight (laughs). I have lost a good 10 kilos, which is a good thing. So ja, looking after myself to look better.
“You know how the league is, you never know what's gonna happen. You know end of September, some time in October something might come up then.
It's still very early days now to ... for any club to put in a request you know.
“Obviously I think it would have been a great experience going to Africa, to coach in Africa. I think it would be a fantastic experience and I will entertain those offers."
