The Italian has been given the boot just one week before Liberia begin their bid to qualify for the next Africa Cup of Nations.
Landi had been in charge for less than a year but was dismissed at the weekend, said Liberia Football Association president Musa Bility in a statement.
It gave no reason for the sacking but Liberia won just twice in eight matches under Landi’s command and their defeat to an under strength Nigerian side in a friendly last week was a first home loss in almost six years.
Landi once tried out as a goalkeeper at Kaizer Chiefs and spent several games as an understudy to Peta Bala'c in the early 1980s.
Thomas Kojo has been appointed as caretaker for the African Nations Cup first round, first leg qualifying match at home to Namibia next Wednesday.
Kojo was until recently on the books of FC AK. Antony Laffor is expected to captain the side against Namibia.
