Eskom said yesterday (Tuesday) that resources will be allocated to avoid the kind of power shortage that disrupted the country's mining industry and triggered a R60-billion, five-year rescue plan.
Eskom director Johnny Dladla briefed Fifa general secretary Jerome Valcke at a board meeting of the Local Organising Committee yesterday.
A recent Fifa inspection team said it was satisfied with the progress toward stadium construction.
“The inspection visit went very well,” Valcke said. “For the World Cup, we are all on track.”
