Ronaldo: We exit with heads held high


Portugal were eliminated from The FIFA World Cup 2014 despite a 2-1 victory over Ghana at The National Stadium in Brasilia, in which the Real Madrid star scored the winning goal for his side.

The Portugal captain has maintained, though, that his side gave it their best and that A Seleccao should be proud of their efforts throughout the campaign.

 “We created many opportunities but we could not finish them,” he said after their final match against Ghana.

"We knew we had to score three goals and were depending on the result of the Germany game and we couldn't do that.

"We deserved more, but that's football. We are leaving with our heads held high,” concluded the 29-year-old.
