Confirmed XIs: Croatia vs England

England won the only meeting between the two side's in a major tournament in a group stage match at Euro 2004 with an emphatic 4-2 scoreline.

Croatia's last victory against the Three Lions was the infamous 3-2 win at Wembley in 2007 - which ended their hopes of qualifying for Euro 2008.

It will be the 'dark horses' first World Cup semi-final since reaching the last-four in 1998, which marked their debut at the global event.

Harry Kane is the World Cup's top scorer with six goals and remains the key player to look out for, while the Croatians provide more of a collective effort with captain Luka Modric the heartbeat of the side.

At the previous nine World Cups, only Ronaldo (eight for Brazil in 2002) has scored more than the Three Lions skipper.

Croatia's right-back Sime Vrsaljko is the only absentee from both sides after being ruled out with a knee injury suffered in the victory over Russia.
