Celtic moving in on Bartlett

Bartlett, who has been out of action for more than five months after being dumped by Amakhosi during the off-season, has been the subject of speculation regarding his next career move.

Speaking to KickOff.com after the Telkom Knockout Cup game against SuperSport United at the Atteridgeville Super Stadium yesterday, Phunya Sele Sele coach, Mich D’Avray let the cat out of the bag when he disclosed that they are expecting a local, reputable striker to arrive in Bloemfontein next week for training with the team.

“He’ll be coming for assessment on different things, and if he likes the place, then definitely we are going to sign him. I can’t mention his name, but he is a big name, a reputable striker and, at this moment, is a free agent.”

D’Avray also mentioned to KickOff.com that his team will venture into the transfer market during the window period in January to bolster his squad.

“We are looking at re-enforcing all departments. But the issue of budget will dictate on how many players we get.”
