Cele looks to end downward slide

Cele, who also enjoyed a short stint with Golden Arrows, has been struggling to find new team since leaving Usuthu in June this year, but he tells KickOff.com that he is now hoping that 2008 will bring a change of luck.

Sguda, as Cele is affectionately known, is looking at two options, one locally and the other in Cyprus.

“There was a chance to play in Vietnam when I went there for trials in October, but they wanted me to stay there for two months and wait for the new season which starts in January.

“But I couldn’t risk surviving on playing in friendly games without a contract so I decided to come back home.

“One guy in Cyprus has instructed me to send video tapes of myself and I have already done that. I am also looking at an option in the PSL in January. There are people who have promised to come back to me before January 5.

“I am desperate to play because I have been out of action for such a long time, although I have been keeping myself fit by training with Maritzburg City.”

Cele has also hit out at his agents, Prosport International, for failing to help him during his trying times.

“These people are not doing anything to help me since I left AmaZulu. I haven’t heard from them, not even for a chance to try out somewhere,” he claims.

“I am relying on other people to help me find a team to play for.”

Cele adds that his contract with Prosport expires in August next year.
