‘Carlitos’ shines in Mozambi

Chimomole has been with Muculmana since June when he was transfer-listed by the league champions to open up foreign space.

He has signed a one-year contract with the rich Maputo-based club.

Since the 24-year-old arrived at Muculmana, who were promoted from the First Division this season, the club has been on a rise.

Muculmana currently share top position with perennial campaigners Ferroviario with both clubs on 31 points with a just a quarter of the season to play in the 14-team league.

Chimomole, who arrived midway through the season, has played his part with some inspiring displays from midfield in the six games that he has played.

“Chimomole is enjoying his football at Liga because the team is winning games and is in line to win the championship,” says fellow countryman Elias ‘Dominguez’ Pelembe.

Prior to playing for SuperSport, where he played a cameo role in the road to the title last season, Chimomole had featured for Desportivo de Maputo with whom he won the Mocambola championship in 2006.

The Mozambican international is understood to be considering making his return to South Africa next year as two clubs showed interest prior to his departure.
