The Durban-based club managed to overcome Orlando Pirates just before the Christmas break and Carelse feels optimistic about Usuthu’s chances of improving their position on the log.
“The last game that I played was in the drawn match against Free State Stars. It was after that match that I was sidelined by the hernia.
“However, my operation was successful and I am okay now. By the time the League resumes, I should be match-fit and available for selection,” he adds.
AmaZulu are currently 8th with 20 points after 15 games; a very good run for the yo-yo team that survived relegation last season after going to the Platinum Play-offs.
“We have a very good technical team and many quality players in our squad so I believe we will do by far better this time around.
“As a captain and one of the senior players in the team it is important for me to ensure that the mood is always high in our camp because it goes a long way in helping us to get good results.”
