Putsche on same page as Comitis

News

The 27-year-old Austrian’s contract with the Citizens will expire at the end of the season, and he is yet to indicate whether he will extend his stay.

Putsche has scored four times and provided two assists in 18 appearances in all competitions in 2018/19, having been a consistent force for City since his arrival in July 2016.

“To be quite honest, I don’t think it is really a priority right now as I know where I stand with the chairman, as I have been in contact with him regarding my future,” Putsche tells KickOff.com

“We both know where we stand and will definitely attend to the matter soon. The club comes first and we have to make sure that we meet our objectives as a unit.”

Meanwhile, Putsche expects SuperSport United to be hungry for revenge when the teams contest a Nedbank Cup last-32 tie at Cape Town Stadium on Saturday (20h15).

City have won three previous meetings this campaign, twice in the league and once in the MTN8 final in September 2018.

“It’s always difficult to play the same team again in such quick succession,” Putsche says. “And we have a long history with SuperSport, you know.

“There’s nothing that we don’t know about them and them about us, which makes for another interesting cup game. But we are hungry for success and have our sights set on more cup success.”
