RIP Bruno Metsu

The Frenchman, nicknamed the ‘White Sorcerer’, was diagnosed with colon cancer last year, and that spread to his liver and lungs. He passed away in a clinic in his hometown of Coudekerque-Village.

Metsu rose to fame when he guided a Senegal side boasting the likes of El-Hadji Diouf and Salif Diao to an opening game victory against France at the 2002 World Cup in Japan.

He last coached Dubai-based Al Wasl.
