In a chat with reporters, Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari confirmed that Neymar was struggling with an injury.
"We need to evaluate it but we should have three, four or five days to try and make sure he can play the next game."
Neymar did however manage to complete the match on Saturday.
"I don't understand how you can do that and not be booked," added Scolari of the challenge that left Neymar needing treatment.
Brazil have the added problem of having to be without influential midfielder Luiz Gustavo who got a second booking and will therefore miss their next game against Colombia on Friday.
Scolari may have to recall the under-fire Paulinho as a replacement for Gustavo, who was dropped from the starting line-up against Chile.
