Ghanaian dup Boateng and Sulley Muntari were booted out of the Black Stars camp for ill-discipline as the latter reported attacked a member of the management team while Boateng received a suspension for allegedly verbally assaulting his national coach.

Yet the Schalke 04 star denied any wrong-doing, saying Appiah ahd merely misunderstood his humour.

“Everything started with jokes that the Coach didn’t take well,” Boateng told German publication Sport Bild.

“He told us that nothing would happen, but sent us back to the changing rooms.

“At the end of training I asked him what he had against us and he started to insult me.

“I knew I was suspended and I accept it, but I want to clarify that I never insulted Appiah.”

Regardless, Ghana were knocked out of the FIFA World Cup as they ended bottom of Group G following their 2-1 defeat to Portugal on Thursday evening.
