Habas: We’ll get better

The Students needed a late goal from Erwin Isaacs to salvage a 1-1 draw against top-flight rookies Chippa United at Athlone Stadium yesterday, despite splashing millions on new players during the off-season.

Still, Habas was happy with the point, telling KickOff.com: “I’m very happy in general. We need more time to organize the team and with time we will improve.”

Chippa coach Roger Sikhakhane was not quite as impressed, but believes his side are on the right track.

“It was very disappointing to concede a goal in the 89th minute,” he says. “But even though we only got a point you can see that the team is going forward.”

He adds: “We need to work harder on finishing chances; that’s where we are lacking. We should have scored at least two or three goals in the first half. Even in the second we had some clear-cut chances but couldn’t convert them.”
