Abia Nale and Joel Zothwane scored for Abafana Bes’thende, who hit their stride from start of the game, with Zothwane firing just wide from long range in the fourth minute.
Billy Ratsoana then hit the post in the 16th minute with a long range effort as the visitors piled on the pressure.
Arrows deservedly went ahead five minutes before the break when Nale hit the back of the net with a low shot after latching onto a free-kick by Thokozani Mshengu.
The score remained 1-0 at the interval, and Manqoba Mngqithi’s charges continued in the same vein in the second half and doubled their lead in the 54th minute when Zothwane scored after receiving a good pass by Nkosinathi Sithole following a corner by Joseph Musonda.
Although Platinum Stars showed more impetus after falling further behind, they struggled to break down the solid Arrows defence, with their best chance falling to substitute Washington Tsotetsi in the 83rd minute, but the midfielder sent his header straight at Maseko.
With that went the final chance of the game, and the result leaving Platinum Stars in 13th spot in the Premiership, while Arrows move up to fifth spot with 23 points for 24 hours at least, with six fixtures scheduled to take place on Wednesday.
