Denmark-based Ghanaian striker Mark Amofah is set to be out of action for at least six weeks after suffering a knee injury on Tuesday during a practice game against Second Division Sonderborg.
Amofah’s injury is a real setback as he is currently doing well with Sonderjyk Elitesport, where he has scored three goals so far this season.
Speaking to KickOff.com from Germany, where he has gone for further treatment, the former Asante Kotoko and Bloemfontein Celtic striker expressed disappointment about his injury.
“I feel bad. The injury has come at a time when I was just starting to enjoy my football in Denmark. However, these things happen in football and so I shall remain strong and hope to regain my form as soon as my injury heals.
“I flew to Germany yesterday for treatment and hopefully I’ll bounce back soon.”
Amofah also heaped praise on the Black Stars’ team that played Bafana Bafana last night.
“The second string team that played yesterday shows just how much talent there is in Ghana. I think all the players that got a chance to play yesterday have done a lot towards impressing the coach.”
