“Brent Carelse has been released from his Ajax contract to facilitate his move to Chippa United on a two-year deal,” club CEO George Comitis says.
“Three players will be loaned out for the remainder of the season. Cole Alexander joins Carelse at Chippa. The competition for places in the Ajax midfield is tough at the moment and this loan move ensures that Cole gets ample game time.
“Although we received two very good offers for Nhlanhla Vilakazi and Paul Rusike from different clubs, Ajax Cape Town have decided to retain these players as they will play an integral role in our future plans.”
He adds: “George Akpabio and Nathan Gertse are set to join near neighbours Vasco da Gama. Akpabio’s loan deal opens up a foreigner spot in the Ajax Cape Town squad that’s enables the club to make a bid for the Brazilian Costaviana Wanderson.
“The player is currently in Europe and negotiations for his services will be concluded shortly, should the parties agree on all aspects of his transfer to the Urban Warriors. We are expecting the player to arrive in Cape Town next week.”
“Unfortunately we have been unable to secure the signature of James Okwousa. The board could not agree to terms of the contract, however Ajax Cape Town has assisted to facilitate his move to Chippa United.”
Meanwhile, Ajax have promoted Taariq Fielies from their youth academy to the PSL team.
