Ajax look to break Pirates bogey

The Urban Warriors last tasted League success against the Buccaneers in December 2008, when Mabhuti Khenyeza scored the only goal of the game.

Ajax coach Maarten Stekelenberg says they are desperate to end that poor record, but the Dutchman knows it will be a tough ask against the treble champions, especially with new coach Roger de Sa in charge.

"I believe we'll see a different Pirates side [to the won that beat Platinum Stars 1-0]," Stekelenberg tells KickOff.com. "Roger has had more time to work with the team and they will be more organised in terms of the way he wants them to play.

"We will have to be on top of our game tonight if we want to come away with the three points, but I think we have the players and the game-plan to achieve our goal."

Ajax fans will have to wait a bit longer before seeing Brazilian youngster Wanderson in action; it was expected that his paper work would be finalised by now, but it seems he will only make his debut against University of Pretoria at the weekend.
