Komphela: Apology a question of morals

Nedbank Cup

Makhubedu yesterday expressed remorse to KickOff.com for criticising Chiefs' performance in their Nedbank Cup last-16 tie at Kabokweni Stadium on Sunday.

Komphela has since warned of the dangers of shooting from the hip.

He said: "When a man commits an error accidentally you would expect an apology and would welcome that and say I accept the apology. But when a man goes on for three, four, five, six, seven minutes on an issue in many ways and they come and apologise, you ask yourself could you have thought better before you said it than to apologise?

"Many of us say things without thinking and then apologise later. That's a huge mistake. Think before you say it because when you come to apologise, you have said it already, it's gone. An apology will be just a question of morals, but in terms of intellect, a lot has been read," concluded the former Maritzburg United boss.

Makhubedu today repeated his apology to the Amakhosi family in a letter.
