Downs draw provides Bloem boost

Nedbank Cup

Siwelele showed plenty of grit and determination as they held Masandawana to a 0-0 draw at the Luca Moripe Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Tignyemb was named man of the match for his contribution and says his side are aided by the fact their crucial cup encounter so closely follows such a big result.

“We must fight harder on Sunday, this is a big game, luckily this comes at home after a good game against Sundowns,” Tignyemb is reported as saying on the PSL's official website.

The veteran shot-stopper also admits that whilst they do not know a tremendous amount about their Nedbank Cup opposition they are not taking the Mpumalanga side, who beat Days FC 5-2 in the previous round, lightly.

“Yeah, look, we don't know much about Mbombela, but the fact they are in the cup at this stage means they are good," he said.

“We have to prepare normally for this game because we do not take them for granted. We have not done well in the cup games in recent times.

“We need to change that and ensure we reach the final since we only did that in 2012, winning the Telkom Knockout Cup."
