TS Galaxy 0-2 Orlando Pirates
Orlando Pirates got back on the winning trail in the DStv Diski Challenge with a 2-0 victory over TS Galaxy at the Tsakane Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Thabiso Monyane found the breakthrough after just three minutes before Cassius Spandiel added a double minutes from the former’s breakthrough.
Kaizer Chiefs 0-1 Royal AM
Kaizer Chiefs were prevented from making inroads on the top-five standings in the DStv Diski Challenge following a 1-0 loss to Royal AM on Saturday.
Chiefs could’ve gone ahead after a goalless first half, but substitute Keletso Sifama missed from the penalty –spot which saw AM go and convert a penalty of their own through Nkosinathi Phewa.
SuperSport United 5-2 AmaZulu
After managing to stun Orlando Pirates prior, AmaZulu came crashing down to earth following a 5-2 hammering at the hands of SuperSport United in Umlazi.
Usuthu’s Mkhuphali Masuku broke the deadlock in the first ten minutes, but Thalente Mbatha erased the deficit only for Sibonakaliso Zikhali to restore the visitors advantage ahead of the break.
Limpopo-born Tendamudzimu Matodzi restored parity shortly after the interval and saw Mbatha and a penalty from Mpho Mahlangu in addition to Matodzi put United out of sight thereafter.
Sekhukhune United 0-1 Chippa United
Chippa United made it a succession of victories to go third on the table through a narrow 1-0 victory over a ten-man Sekhukhune United.
As such, Babina Noko were not allowed to claim another win after seeing off Maritzburg United last week as Kamohelo Hoala struck the winner late in the first half period.
Babina Noko did play the last quarter of the second half with a reduced number of players after Spiwe Msimango earned a straight red card for a foul on Kelly.
Golden Arrows 3-4 Swallows FC
A seven-goal thriller at the Princess Magogo Stadium saw Swallows FC edge Golden Arrows 4-3 to move further away from the bottom-three quagmire.
The Dube Birds settled first through goals in quick succession from Sithole and Mnqobi Mkhize before Samkelo Mzolo and a spot-kick from Senzo Hlope put Arrows all square.
Mkhize put the Dube Birds back ahead after halftime, but Arrows levelled again through Bongumusa Nkosi before Phelelani Mvelase snatched the winner for the travelling outfit.
Mamelodi Sundowns 1-1 Marumo Gallants FC
Mamelodi Sundowns failed to bag maximum points but still moved one spot up from seventh to sixth spot following a 1-1 draw against the basement dwellers Marumo Gallants FC.
The Brazilians entered the break in front through Thando Buthelezi’s finish midway in the first half, but Gallants rallied back and levelled after the break through Thando Mabunda.
