Downs' MTN8 opponents revealed


Mamelodi Sundowns have been drawn against Golden Arrows in the semi-finals of the MTN8 on Sunday evening.

The Brazilians secured their spot in the final four after defeating Kaizer Chiefs on penalties, despite throwing away a two-goal lead in regulation time.

Manqoba Mngqithi's charges will now face a two-legged two against Arrows, who also needed a penalty shoot-out to overcome SuperSport United.

The second semi-final will see Swallows FC take on Cape Town City, who eliminated AmaZulu with a 2-1 victory on Sunday night.

Swallows, meanwhile, ensured their will be a different name on the trophy this year after defeating MTN8 champions Orlando Pirates 2-1 at Orlando Stadium last night.

The Premier Soccer League will confirm the dates and venues for the semi-final fixtures in due course.
