Since arriving in Limpopo a few weeks ago from Bloemfontein Celtic, Solomons has helped his team pick up four points from two matches.

“There has been nothing much I have done. I’ve just tried to instil self-belief and confidence in the players,” a modest Solomons tells

“They must feel worth as soccer players.”

The former Santos mentor says is happy with the way players are responding to his tactics, but says his work has only just begun.

“There has been good progress but there is still long way to go,” he says. “Our short-term goal is to stay in the PSL but I want to lay a good foundation for the future.”

The coach reserved special praise for his captain Thapelo Tshilo, who won the man of the match award against Sundowns.

“He is a tower of strength, a leader and commander at the back,” Solomons says. “I hope we can continue working together as a team for the success of Polokwane City.”
