This is the bold message from Bucs coach Roger de Sa, who has not used the 37-year-old defender in the last six games, owing to what started out as boardroom issues.
With the Soweto Derby next up on the congested fixture list for Pirates, the long serving defender is not De Sa’s main concern – especially with Rooi Mahamutsa and Ayanda Gcaba looking settled as the centre-back pairing.
“Lucky is a player just like everyone else,” De Sa says.
“So just like Manti Moholo, Mpho [Makola], [Ndumiso] Mabena and [Thamsanqa] Gabuza he is hard at training and has to convince us as the technical team that he still wants to play again.
“That is where the issue with Lucky stands because he is still a player who must show it at training like everyone else that he wants to play in this team again.”
The club captain last played in a CAF Champions’ League group match against Al Ahly on September 22, and has not even managed to make the match day squad since then.
