Amongst the three of them one can count a CAF Champions League title, a UEFA Champions League semi-final berth and a FIFA Fair Play Award.

However, Kaizer Chiefs legend Lucas Radebe and former Orlando Pirates duo Edward Motale and Steve Lekoelea will today grace the small screen as actors on the popular soapie Isidingo.

Radebe said he was chuffed by the invitation to feature on this legendary programme. “I remember I used to crave for it even when I was resident in Leeds.”

The episode is centred around ex-footballer Sikhumbuzo. S’Khu’s return to the world of celebrity is marked by a party at The Rec. The party is also filmed for ONTV! and form the first episode of his series.

The series is about his life as a footballer, the work, the play, the fame, the job as told from his point of view as a footballer, celebrity, spectator, fan and socialite. The party is glitzy glamorous with a ting of bling.

‘Rhoo’, ‘Magents’ and Lekoelea are guests of Skhu in the episode.

Former Pirates free-kick specialist Lekoelea says that it is impressive of the soapie to remember the ones who have retired from football.

“We are grateful for this; it means a lot to be a part of the 15-year-old history of the show,”Lekoelea said of the programme which officially has a viewership of over 2million.

Motale says that he is looking forward to a magnificent weekend as he is on the soapie, plus he is relishing the possibility of a Pirates win in a high profile semi-final second leg against Esperance on Saturday.

“I tell you, this could be the best weekend I’ve had this year – the combination of the TV appearance and a good result from the match in Tunisia will definitely see me painting the town red, or rather black and white!”

Tune into SABC 3 tonight to view the episode.
