Despite Bafana Bafana taking centre stage this weekend, Amakhosi will be travelling to the Free State to square off with Phunya Sele Sele at the annual Macufe Festival on Sunday (15h00).
Having failed to win either of their Absa Premiership fixtures so far this month, Chiefs will now be looking to this contest to rediscover their form that saw the club win all three of their games last month.
Solinas has particularly welcomed the timing of the international break while the likes of striker Leonardo Castro and midfielder Andriamirado Andrianarimanana work on their recovery from injury.
“I am happy about the break, so we can focus on the recovery of Leonardo Castro and Dax Andrianarimanana," the Italian told his club's website.
He also confirmed that the meeting with Steve Komphela's side affords him an opportunity to work on his team's performance in a competitive environment, where the fans will be expecting nothing less than a victory.
"We will also concentrate on improving our play. The [Macufe Cup] game is important as it will be competitive and give us a chance to try out various combinations, especially with six players away on national duty," he said.
Chiefs will be without Itumeleng Khune, Ramahlwe Mphahlele (both with Bafana), Godfrey Walusimbi (Uganda), Teenage Hadebe, Khama Billiat (both with Zimbabwe) and Virgil Vries (Namibia).
