Pretoria Callies 1-1 Richards Bay

Richards Bay ended the weekend top of the GladAfrica Championship table despite being held to a 1-1 draw by Pretoria Callies on Saturday afternoon at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

The Romans broke the deadlock midway through the first stanza but Katlego Maphathe rescued a point with the equaliser for the Natal Rich Boyz ten minutes before the half-time break.

TS Sporting 1-2 JDR Stars

JDR Stars jumped up to third on the standings after edging TS Sporting 2-1 on Sunday afternoon at Kabokweni Stadium.

Ishmael Wadi broke the deadlock for the Hammer Boys 11 minutes before the half-time break and Temptation Chiwunga doubled their lead six minutes later.

Abantu Bemthetho got a consolation goal deep in stoppage time.

Platinum City Rovers 1-0 Cape Town Spurs

Cape Town Spurs missed the chance to move seven points away from the relegation zone after a narrow 1-0 loss to Platinum City Rovers on Sunday afternoon at Olen Park Stadium.

Spurs, as a result, remained four points above the danger zone in 12th spot while City Rovers moved up to seventh on the log.

Cape Town All Stars 3-1 Uthongathi

Cape Town Spurs moved up to fourth on the log after defeating Uthongathi 3-1 on Friday evening at Parow Park.

Athi Sitshwele gave the Cane Cutters an early lead but Justice Figuaredo levelled matters for Igugu Lekapa nine minutes before the half-time break.

Thabo Mokhele made it 2-1 for the hosts on the stroke of half-time and Lesvin Stoffels secured the three points with the third goal in the last 17 minutes.

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila 1-3 Venda Football Academy

Venda Football Academy jumped up to within one point of promotion play-off spot after drubbing Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila 3-1 in the Limpopo derby on Saturday afternoon at Thohoyandou Stadium.

After a deadlocked first stanza, Rotonswa Mutsivhuli eventually broke the duck for VFA just before the hour-mark, Kgothatso Mariba doubled their lead in the 65th minute and Thembisani Nevhulamba gave them a 3-0 lead three minutes later.

Vhadau Vha Damani pulled a goal back in the last 18 minutes but that only proved to be a consolation goal.

Polokwane City 2-3 Black Leopards

Black Leopards boosted their chances of surviving relegation after edging neighbours Polokwane City in a five-goal thriller in the Limpopo derby on Saturday afternoon at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Lidoda Duvha remained at the bottom of the log, although they reduced the deficit behind to two points from safety while Rise and Shine dropped down to sixth.

Jomo Cosmos 0-0 University of Pretoria

University of Pretoria missed the chance to climb up to the top of the table after they were held to a goalless draw by Jomo Cosmos on Saturday afternoon at Tsakane Stadium.

AmaTuks were unchanged in second spot on log, just one point behind leaders Richards Bay while Ezenkosi moved out of the relegation zone by virtue of a superior goal difference over TS Sporting in 14th spot.

Free State Stars 0-0 Hungry Lions

Free State Stars extended their winless run to four matches after playing to a goalless stalemate with Hungry Lions on Saturday afternoon at Goble Park Stadium.

Ea Lla Koto were stuck in eighth spot on the log with 32 points while Lions were also unchanged, two points and two places behind.
