Chiefs miss out on foreign striker

Kaizer Chiefs have missed out on signing highly-rated Nigerian striker, William Agada after he signed in the USA.

Agada was due to arrive in South Africa last week for assessment after being highly recommended at Naturena a few months ago.

The 22-year-old striker has since made a u-turn and signed with MLS side Sporting KC.

Agada was on the books of Hapoel Katamon in Israel last season where he scored 8 goals in 31 games.

According to our informant, Amakhosi were keen on the services of Agada and had invited him for further assessment.

"Chiefs have lost out. The boy has signed in the USA. He was interested to play in the PSL but the offer from the USA was too good to turn down," said the source.

"He was due to arrive in South Africa for assessment with Chiefs. He is now waiting for his visa in Nigeria before heading to the USA.

Chiefs have more than three spaces available to sign foreign players after parting ways with Leonardo Castro, Samir Nurkovic and Lazarous Kambole recently.
