'There's more to life than just the PSL'

Dolly made his move to the French Ligue 1 to join Montpellier halfway through last season and is enjoying the challenge of playing in one of Europe’s top leagues.

He has made 16 appearances in all competition this season, 11 of those coming in the league matches. He is currently in camp with Bafana Bafana for the Four Nations tournament in Zambia.

“It’s a good squad that we have, balanced with youth and experience. It’s always good to see the youngsters who are doing well in the PSL getting a chance in the national team because they are the future,” said the former Mamelodi Sundowns winger.

“It’s good to share my experiences with them and just tell them how life in Europe is and try to motivate them more and to show them that there is more to life than just the PSL”

Dolly did not feature in Bafana’s victory over Angola on Wednesday and will be hoping to get an opportunity in the final against Zambia tomorrow.

Bafana beat the Angolans 6-5 on penalties after it finished 1-1 in regulation time.

“I think we played well. We dominated the game, but we just made a few silly mistakes, one with the goal they scored which was our mistake," he says.

“If we had taken our chances during the game, then it would have been a different story. I don’t think we deserved to go to penalties, but there were a few new faces in the team and they did well. Credit should go to my teammates who put us in the final.”
