RIP Keryn Jordan

Jordan earned respect in South African football as a prolific striker, and also played a key role in Rangers success, winning the League trophy with the Mighty Maulers under coach Gordon Igesund in 1996/97.

The former Bafana Bafana striker moved to New Zealand in 2004, where he became a legend of the game – with 76 goals in 100 games – before retiring in 2010 owing to health problems.

Maritzburg United coach Larsen says Jordon was a bright and cheerful person.

“I played with Keryn at Rangers for many seasons and everyone knew how good he was as a player. But he was also a bubbly person with a great personality.

“I was close with him, as we all were as teammates at Rangers. He was great company, always laughing, and he enjoyed hanging around with everyone in the team.”
