DARREN KEET – 7
Had little to do, but did well when called upon on a couple of occasions. Solid enough showing from the Bidvest Wits goalkeeper.
DIAMOND THOPOLA – 5
Got skinned a couple of times on his wing and was replaced at the break by Ramahlwe Mphahlele.
ERICK MATHOHO – 6
Can be too static at times and his aimless high balls up to the diminutive Percy Tau were one of the frustrations of the night.
RIVALDO COETZEE – 6
Was caught in a few mix-ups that were almost costly, but otherwise looked quite composed. Could have won it at the death with a headed chance from a free-kick.
TEBOGO LANGERMAN – 7
Always willing to get forward, he found himself in some good positions in the box but could not get his crosses on target. Another steady display.
ANDILE JALI - 6
Looks like the captain’s armband got to his head a little in the early stages with a few rash challenges and then a booking for something he said to the referee. Controlled things reasonably well in the middle of the park.
TIYANI MABUNDA - 6
Effective enough in breaking up the play, though his poor error in giving up possession saw Coetzee have to commit a foul which earned him a yellow card.
PHAKAMANI MAHLAMBI – 6
Looked a little lively on debut, but tried to take on defenders when he might have been better served looking for a teammate. Combined well with Tau before he was replaced at the break by Thulani Serero.
LEBOGANG MANYAMA – 7
Neat and tidy in the first half before being replaced at halftime by Themba Zwane. Showed good composure and tried to settle the youngsters.
LUTHER SINGH – 6
Didn’t see too much of the ball as South African concentrated their attacks on the right, and was replaced at halftime by the more effective Keagan Dolly. But a promising debut.
PERCY TAU - 6
Rather generously awarded the Man of the Match award, Tau never stopped trying but his decision-making at times remains a major area of concern. Takes the wrong option too often, but he will learn. Remains a class act.
THEMBA ZWANE – 5
Once again was a little quiet and did not show enough of himself.
RAMAHLWE MPHAHLELE – 5
Brought more solidity defensively once he came on, but wasted a number of fine opportunities with poor passes or crosses.
THULANI SERERO – 6
A quiet game for Serero, who may be feeling the effects of two matches so close together having spent so much of the season on the sidelines.
KEAGAN DOLLY – 7
Was excellent after he came on, raising the tempo and finding intelligent passes and link-up play. Probably Bafana’s best player on the night despite only playing one half.
Was not on long enough to earn a rating, but had one big chance when the Angolan goalkeeper miss-controlled the ball and it fell into his path. But he was closed down quickly and couldn’t get the ball out of his feet.
