Mbappe sends Messi & Neymar warning

World News

Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe has a message for teammates Lionel Messi and Neymar about their playing relationship following their first defeat as an attacking trio.

French giants PSG suffered their first loss of the 2021/22 Ligue 1 season, despite fielding a star-studded attack of Mbappe, Neymar, Messi, and Angel Di Maria, when they failed to produce a single goal in their 2-0 defeat to Rennes on Sunday.

Now on international duty with France, Mbappe has revealed what he believes it will take for Les Parisiens, and his famous attacking partners in particular, to start firing on all cylinders.

"When you play up top with players like that [Messi and Neymar], you have to share the cake so that all three can eat," the 22-year-old told RMC Sport

"You can't say that you'll pass to one and not the other.

"You have to be smart. There will always be moments of frustration, but the only interest the three of us have is to make PSG win."

Mbappe also delved into his relationship with Neymar following reports of conflict between the pair.

"It happens sometimes," he added.

"I should have thought more, but I don't regret it. It might seem strange from the outside, but on the inside, we know how things are.

"I have great respect for Neymar as a player and as a person. There are a lot of cameras now, but this is football and we have no problems."

The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner also expressed his admiration for Messi, and how "easy" it is to play alongside the Argentine.

"It's very easy to play with Messi, really," Mbappe continued.

"He really understands football, always knows what to do.

"If he has to dribble past everyone and score a goal, he'll do it. If he has to play with one-touch, he'll do it. He's one of the best, if not the best."
