Tanzania began their qualifying campaign to Cameroon with a 2-1 victory over Equatorial Guinea at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Tanzania rallied from behind thanks to strikes from Simon Msuva and Salum Abubakar at the death after Pedro Obiang gifted the visitors the lead on 15 minutes.
Morocco 0-0 Mauritania
Morocco failed to join the Central African Republic at the top of Group E after playing to a lacklustre goalless draw against Mauritania at home.
The Atlas Lions struggled to unravel the visitors, who defended strongly right through the match as their pursuit to successive continental qualifications start on a positive note.
Tunisia 4-1 Libya
Tunisia moved to the top of Group J following a comprehensive 4-1 triumph over Libya at the Stade Olympique de Rades.
Wahbi Khazri missed a penalty after 33 minutes, but atoned by netting a brace. Saif-Eddine Khaoui also contributed with a whilst Hamdou Elhouni had the visitors on board from the spot in added time.
