Ajax Amsterdam have committed a horrendous administration error by mistakenly omitting Sebastian Haller from their UEFA Europa League squad.
The Ivory Coast international striker joined the Eredivisie giants from West Ham United in the January transfer window in a club-record €22.5-million switch.
With two goals and four assists in his first six league games, the towering striker has been an instant hit with the Dutch giants but they may not be able to call upon his services in Europe.
The club has since confirmed that they are 'in discussions' with UEFA and KNVB (Dutch FA) about the issue after submitting a squad list without him on the February 3 deadline.
Ajax are scheduled to face Ligue 1 side Lille in the two-legged round of 16 of the second-tier European club competition on 18 and 25 Ferbuary.
