Ajax teenage captain Matthijs de Ligt has opened up about their 'nightmare' UEFA Champions League exit after the Eredivisie giants succumbed to a 96th minute Tottenham winner.
Spurs were trailing 3-0 on aggregate at half-time in the second leg at the Johan Cryff Arena with De Light and Hakim Ziyech seemingly sending them to the the final in Madrid next month.
However, Mauricio Pochetino's side managed to overturn the result in dramatic fashion with Brazil winger Lucas Moura grabbing a hat-trick.
The Premier League side's 3-2 win qualified them for the final on 1 June against Liverpool thanks to the away goals rule.
"It's a nightmare, like a dream that went bad," the 19-year-old told said, as per ESPN FC. "We played well in the first half, we had it all our way.
"We didn't keep up the same pressure in the second half. We gave silly goals away. We were so close to the final ... and then the ball goes in. Unbelievable."
