PSG have now allayed the initial concerns over the foot injury but he will miss their last-16 UEFA Champions League tie against Manchester United next week.
The club revealed after the 'exchanges within this college of specialists', over the lesion of the fifth right metatarsal - he will be expected to return to full fitness within the next ten weeks.
"PSG wishes to show its player all his affection, his strongest support and his greatest encouragement to overcome this injury, with the courage and determination he has always shown," read a statement on the club's official website.
The Brazil international will be a huge loss after showcasing sublime form this season with 20 goals and 10 assists in 21 games across all competitions.
