Confirmed XIs: Ajax v Chelsea

UEFA Champions League

Ajax Amsterdam will look to maintain top spot in Group H ahead of their clash against Frank Lampard’s in-form Chelsea at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

Both teams come into this game with identical records, five straight wins apiece in all competitions.

Despite losing two of their most influential players in Frenkie De Jong and Matthijs de Ligt, the momentum that saw them to last season’s UEFA Champions League semi-final shows no sign of letting up, scoring six goals in their first two group games, without conceding.

The Chelsea manager is well aware of Ajax’s threat, as he mentioned to BBC Football in the pre-match press conference.

"I watched them (Ajax) play last year and I know their team has changed slightly," Lampard said.

"I'm very aware of the new threats they have."

While Chelsea has key players missing through injury with the likes of Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, and Ngolo Kante, the home team has no injury worries, as Erik ten Hag has a full complement of his squad to choose from.
