Can Salah match Ronaldo's record?

Salah recently equalled Cristiano Ronaldo's Premier League goalscoring record when he netted 31 times for Manchester United in the 2007/08 season.

Now the African superstar can go one further by equaling his record of 42 across all competitions.

Ronaldo achieved the feat over 49 games for the Red Devils a decade ago and if Salah scores tonight, he would have done it with two fewer games than the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.

The newly crowned PFA Player of the Year has been in scintillating form in the UEFA Champions League too, with eight goals and three assists in 10 games, he will be a key figure at Anfield against Roma.

After eliminating FC Barcelona in a historic 3-0 victory at the Stadio Olimpico, the Serie A side cannot be underestimated by Jurgen Klopp's side.

Led by former Manchester City striker Eden Dzeko in attack, the aerial presence of the Bosnia international will no doubt cause the Reds problems from set-pieces, which has been a notable weakness in their game this season.

Dzeko has directly contributed to 10 goals in as many appearances in the Champions League this season with six goals and four assists and will be the main attacking outlet for the Giallorossi - if they are to claim a vital away goal.

Both sides have enjoyed similar domestic campaigns, as they both sit in third place in their respective divisions but the Reds will come into the fixture due to the incredible form of their front three attacking force of Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.
