Can CR7 inspire Juve to UCL title?

UEFA Champions League

"Fantastic for Italian football. The Bianconeri will dominate for years and now it will be even easier with a player of his qualities," were the words of Jose Mourinho upon Juventus record-breaking transfer of Ronaldo.

The Serie A champions forked out a league record €100 million for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, with a lucrative four-year deal worth €30 million a season.

With their dominance of the domestic scene well documented, his addition was clearly set out for one target; success in Europe's elite club competition.

Over the past decade, Ronaldo has won seven top scorers award in the tournament and won five titles, three more than the Italian giants.

"I hope I can help Juventus win it (the Champions League)," Ronaldo said upon his unveiling.

"They couldn't win (last year) because even when you get to the final nothing is written.

"I hope I can be the lucky star of this club but we will see what happens."

The Portugal captain's individual brilliance reached new heights upon knocking out his new side in the 2017/18 season with the iconic overhead kick, which saw his new fans applaud his efforts, while still a Real player.

Even at the ripe age of 33, Ronaldo has constantly reinvented himself with clear challenges set for himself, with the relentless ambition to achieve it.

With that sort of mentality added to an already world-class Juve starting XI, the possibilities are infinite.

Juve legend Gianluigi Buffon summed it up perfectly when he stated what the only impossible task will be for the former Manchester United forward.

"Certainly he won't be able to give Juventus the sorrows he's given us [as player and fans] in recent years."

Do you think Ronaldo is the attacking talisman for Juventus to finally be crowned European champions once again?
