Robben, 34, will depart from Bayern at the end of the season after 10 iconic seasons that's seen him rack up 143 goals and 101 assists in 305 games to date and in the process lift 18 major titles - including six consecutive Bundesliga trophies and the UEFA Champions League.
And after announcing this week that he still maintains the desire to prolong his professional career, the 96-time capped Dutchman has attracted interest from his homeland in the Eredivisie.
"It would be the ultimate dream if he were to join us and retire from football here," Groningen CEO Hans Nijland told Dagblad Noorden. "We should at least dream of it."
PSV have also confirmed they are interested in Robben, who joined them from Groningen in 2002 before leaving for Chelsea two years later.
"We are always interested in good players and Arjen is a good player," Eindhoven coach Mark van Bommel, a former teammate of Robben's at Bayern, said at a fans' meeting this week, as per ESPN FC.
