A statement on the club's official website read: "And last but not least, here we are. After the launches of our home and away kit, we’re excited to present our third kit in collaboration with adidas to our amazing fans all over the world.
"We are who we are because of this great city known as Manchester, a city that has become a beacon and a way of life for millions all over the world.
"This season’s third kit is inspired by the icons of our past, and the icons of right now. As the likes of Eric Cantona and George Best have cemented their status as legends, now is the time for our players to make their mark.
"Fit for kings and queens, this season’s third shirt pays homage to the away shirt from the 1993/94 season when United retained the Premier League title and also won the FA Cup to complete the club's first-ever Double."
