LaLiga ambassador Luis Garcia, who previously played for the likes of FC Barcelona, Liverpool and Atletico Madrid, has described former Bafana Bafana defender Nasief Morris as a great player.
Garcia was speaking to Kickoff.com and other South African media during LaLiga's 90th-anniversary event on Thursday when he reserved praise for Morris, who he played alongside during their shared spell at Racing Santander in the 2009/2010 season.
"Yes, yes, he's good friend," the 42-year-old said when asked about playing with the former South Africa defender. "I was injured for three months and he was injured for another three months [so we didn't play much together] but he's one of my good friends.
"...He was a fantastic midfielder or centre-back, he could play in different positions and I also saw him play as a right-back. Even though he wasn't very tall [he was] fantastic with his feet and, well, a fantastic guy in the dressing room. Great player, great player."

At the end of their campaign together, Garcia joined Morris' former club Panathinaikos and revealed that he rented the ex-Santos star's home during his time in Greece, with the duo having kept in contact ever since.
"Also, we got along because he played for Panathinaikos and when I had the chance to play for them I was renting his house over there, so we got along very well and we've been in touch since then," the former Spain international shared.
"We've been in touch for a few years and he always sends me some pictures of the beaches, telling me, 'listen, you should come here', and it's something that is on my bucket list to go to South Africa and enjoy Cape Town and Johannesburg and some of the other places."
