Manchester United legend Jaap Stam, who is the manager of MLS side FC Cincinnati, has praised Kamohelo Mokotjo's quality ahead of his potential debut this weekend.

After completing his mandatory quarantine period, Mokotjo has been training with the first team over the course of the week and could be in line to make his first appearance for the club during this weekend's clash against Minnesota United.

Stam, who turned out for the likes of United, PSV Eindhoven and AC Milan during his playing career, has revealed that the 29-year-old has impressed him since arriving in Cincinnati and could form part of the next matchday squad.

"You can see he’s a player, shows quality on the ball," Stam said, according to Cincinnati Soccer Talk.

"The only thing is he’s been out for a period of time [and] needs to get in a rhythm again. He can be involved in the roster but to start him straight away, we don’t know yet. We can’t bring him in for the full 90 minutes. We need to do what is the best for him."

Cincy will travel to Minnesota on Saturday (Sunday morning, 02:00 South African time) where the club will look to bounce back from the 4-0 defeat they suffered at the hands of Bradley Carnell's New York Red Bulls side last weekend.
