Former SuperSport United striker Darren Smith has walked away with a hat-trick of awards following the conclusion of the 2020 Finnish Ykkonen season.

Smith, 24, enjoyed a prolific debut campaign in Europe where he netted 18 goals in 22 league appearances for Ekenas IF in Finland's second division, propelling his club to a fourth-place finish in the league standings and winning the Golden Boot award in the process.

The Cape Town-born striker's remarkable form earned him a move to top-flight side FC Honka earlier in the month, and has now seen him rake in two more awards after he was bestowed with the Best Player of the Season and Best Striker of the Season accolades last night.

"Walked away with three awards for 2020, the Best Player of the Season, Top Goalscorer of the Season and the Best Striker of the Ykkonen Season 2020," Smith shared on his Instagram account. "Thank you to all who voted for me.
