Following Kylian Mbappe’s reported frustration with Neymar, rumours have emerged detailing their strained relationship.
The 22-year-old French forward was widely linked with a move to Spain in the recent transfer window, forcing Paris Saint Germain’s sporting director Leonardo to admit in an interview with RMC Sport that their talisman does dream of joining Real Madrid.
According to the French outlet L’Equipe, this transfer saga did not impress Neymar in the slightest as he was left confused by his teammate's desire to leave the club. Unlike Mbappe, the Brazilian winger, who had one year remaining on his contract, decided to commit his future to the club.
The report goes on to claim that the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner had avoided some of the off-field squad meetings where the PSG team get together, with the reason for his absence reportedly due to him feeling “isolated” in a South American-dominated dressing room.
Both stars are believed to still respect one another, but these incidents have reportedly resulted in their bond deteriorating. The two players were said to have held a meeting during Monday’s training session to clear the air in an attempt to stop matters from getting worse.
