Ligue 1

Now that his move to Paris-Saint-Germain has been confirmed, Lionel Messi will reportedly earn massive wages in France. Where, though, does he feature among the club's highest-paid stars?

On Tuesday, the 34-year-old completed his switch to the Parisian club, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reporting that he will be earning €35 million (R603 million) a year in Ligue 1.

That annual salary helps establish the French club as the highest spenders on wages in the sports world, according to the Daily Mail.

In fact, Messi will earn almost four times as much as former Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos does at the Parc des Princes, with the Spaniard said to be on a deal worth €10 million (R172 million) a season.

The ex-FC Barcelona talisman's fellow Argentines Angel Di Maria and Mauro Icardi are also among Les Parisiens' highest-paid players, earning €15 million (R258 million) and €10 million (R172 million) a season, respectively, with the latter being the 10th biggest earner in the side.
