Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has responded to claims the club could make a move for Kylian Mbappe in the future.
A number of reports claimed Mbappe was set to join Los Blancos on a free transfer before he changed his mind and signed a three-year extension with Paris Saint-Germain.
Perez says he is not sure if the club will try to sign the France international in the first future and claims external issues changed his mind.
"The Mbappe I wanted was the one that dreamed of Real Madrid," Los Blancos president said in an interview with El Chiringuito.
"Signing him in three years? I don't know… in the space of three years, we could all be bald (anything can happen). This Mbappe, is not Mbappe. A player that refuses to do an act of sponsorship with his national team, I don't want.
"I thought that he had a dream, but sometimes they can't be realised because of external causes."
When asked about the French president personally calling Mbappe, Perez added, "call from the French president was confirmed by the man himself.
"No doubt there was a certain degree of pressure placed on Mbappe and the financial package would have been significant."
