Barca 'contact' Koeman's replacement


FC Barcelona have reportedly made contact with a high-profile coach as the club look to part ways with Ronald Koeman.

The post Lionel Messi era has not been so far after a disappointing start in LaLiga and the UEFA Champions League, which included a 3-0 loss to Bayern Munich.

The Catalans have also dropped points in their last LaLiga outings, with Koeman set to miss the next two games after getting sent off in the 0-0 draw with Cadiz no Thursday.

A number of names have been linked with the hot seat at the Camp Nou, but Goal have reported that the club have contacted Roberto Martinez about the position.

The Spanish tactician has revived his career on the international front after he was sacked by Everton in 2016 and he has made Belgium the highest-ranked nation in the world.

Former Barcelona star Xavi Hernandez has also been linked with the job, as Spanish publication Marca have reported that the former midfielder and Martinez are favourites to replace Koeman, should he get the sack.

In the meantime, the Catalan giants will aim to get back on the winning trail when they host Levante at the Camp Nou on Sunday afternoon.
